At some point in our kitchen art installation, artist Rich Dunbrack knew we needed to see some eye candy. And you know what? He did, as well. Up until that point it had been a lot of prep work and demolition and painting.
One day, before a trip back to Martha's Vineyard where his main studio and full time home are, Rich started to give us a taste of things to come. I could wax poetic, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. This is what happened over a week or two.
Rich puts up the very first embellishments, made from old sleigh parts and other items.
Two of Amy Flynn's Fobots find themselves quite at home for the time being! About one week later came the stained glass doors. Here are the parts in the shop.
And in place.
Then the pantry doors came in. Phl thinks the yellow metal parts on the top soors remind him of the Simpsons.
That is what the antique heating grates look like when Rich first brings them to his shop. Below, they are in!
Stay tuned for more!
I am blown away by your kitchen!!!

The fobots look so comfy. So exciting! Love the grates, and everything.

This kitchen is so beautiful it makes me want to weep! I can't wait for it to be finished. And then you must have a Welcome-to-my-cool-new-kitchen-everbody! party and invite me so that I can admire it close up and touch it and go all, "It's SO pretty!" for the entire evening. (And then I will go home & really weep out of longing for something so beautiful.)
Phil is right about the yellow metal parts looking like the Simpsons. Also, Rich is a fucking genius!! OMG! You could sell tickets to people so they can view your kitchen when it's done.
I could do an entire blog post about the love & envy I have for your kitchen!

I will DEFINITELY have you over for a Finished Kitchen party!! And we can also continue our celebration for our mutual big birthday!!
But instead of weeping, just spend more time with me in the kitchen eating and drinking.
And, even if you can't get a kitchen by Rich, you could always get a piece of his furniture...
